We are Burchat/Peplinskie first cousins of Joe’s from the Ottawa Valley. We visited Uncle Aloysius and Aunt Tessie on their farm in Englehart and remember Joe running around as a young boy. Joe and I reconnected via FB and telephone, after over 40 years. We had some long, hilarious talks, reminiscing about college antics, pub crawls, and parties at the duplex.
Joe honored Deb and I by standing up in our wedding, June 5, 1976.
Joe and I planned a get together in Temagami in early March, which changed to late March because of his heart stuff. We intended to gather at George Boma's place south of North Bay when Joe's health improved, this summer.
Joe was a great friend...when you can reconnect after 40+ years and it feels like yesterday... that's a true bond.
I'm deeply saddened by your loss.
