James passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026 at Extendicare Kirkland Lake with is his family at his side. Jim is predeceased by his wife Barbara "Jean" (née Campbell.) He is survived by his son Lance McKenzie, his brother Richard (Juanita) McKenzie and sister-in-law Margaret McKenzie. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony McKenzie and Evelyn McKenzie (née Grant) and by his siblings Laura (John, predeceased), Tony (Margaret), Normand (Audrey, predeceased) and Danny.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s honour may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

So sorry to learn of Jim's passing. My condolences. I had the luck of being Jim's neighbour for about ten years. He was always taking care of me and my children. Taking out my garbage, blowing snow or doing carpentry work at my house. Words can not express how indebted I am. He truly was an honorable man. Rest in peace Mr Mckenzie - sorry "Jim" (as he always insisted I call him) Rest easy Sir
