It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabelle Durette on July 13, 2026, at
the age of 74.
Born in Noëlville, Ontario, on November 14, 1951, Isabelle was raised in Sturgeon Falls
before relocating to Kirkland Lake with her parents in the mid-1960s, where she made her
home and built a lifetime of cherished memories.
Isabelle was predeceased by her beloved husband of 24 years, Aurelien Fortin. She was a
devoted and loving mother to Raymonde (Shawn), Chantal (Donald), Sabby, and Nathalie (Bill).
She was a proud and loving Mémère to Jessica, Savannah, Dawson, Justin, Jasmaine,
Sabrina, Matthew, Amanda, Montana, Nakita, Chantee and Sydney, and was blessed with
many beloved great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Isabelle is also survived by her dear siblings Jeanette, Nicole, Pauline, Claude, Leo,
Henriette, Roland, Maurice, and Danny. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Rita
Durette and Jean-Paul Durette, as well as her brothers Henry, Roger, and Marcel.
Isabelle found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved knitting, making crafts,
playing bingo, and, above all, spending time with her family and friends. She will forever be
remembered for her kind heart, her gentle soul, and her beautiful smile that could light up
any room. Her warmth, compassion, and unconditional love touched everyone who had the
privilege of knowing her.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that the love and memories she
leaves behind will remain with us forever. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered,
and never forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00am, at Assumption Church,
with a luncheon in the basement of the church to follow.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as we celebrate Isabelle's life and share in the
memories of a woman who meant so much to so many.
