The family announces the passing of Henry Duchene after a short illness of cancer. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Blanche River Health, Kirkland Lake Site. Henry worked in the mining and forestry sector over throughout his career, and driving truck and heavy equipment which he loved. He worked until he was 77 years of age where he loved interacting with people.
He was predeceased by his family members Josepha (father) and Mignonne (mother) Duchene; siblings: Eugene (Ruby) Duchene, Nelson, Cecile (George), Gerry (Theresa), Emma (Bob), Philibert (Louisie), Leona (Mont), Edgar (Priscilla), Ruby (Raymond).
He is survived by: his devoted wife Phyllis of 62 years; a father to his children William (Janet), Lynne (Roger) and Christian. Grandfather to: Stephanie, Evan (Abbi), Adam; Amanda and Madison (Kirk). He will be greatly missed by his siblings Desneiges Epp, Émile (Jane), Theresa (Fred) Gardiner, Edmond (Sue) and Leo.
Celebration of life will be held at Timskaming Funeral Cooperative (Formerly French Family Funeral Home) at 111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake on Saturday, July 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Donations in memory of Henry can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Blanche River Health, Kirkland Lake Site.
