In memory of

Hendry Olson

1949 - 2026

It is with profound sadness that his son, Mark Olson (Linda), and his daughter, Amanda Olson, announce the passing of their beloved father, Hendry Walter Olson, on May 25, 2026, at the age of 76, following a short battle with cancer.

Hendry was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Muriel “Sue” (Keith) Olson, whom he affectionately called his “Newfie.” Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, unwavering devotion, and family. Through nearly five decades of marriage, they faced life’s joys and challenges hand in hand. It brings us comfort to imagine them reunited once again, singing, “Daddy sang bass, Mama sang tenor,” just as they always belonged together.

Hendry was the last surviving child of the late Nils Olson and the late Aili (Svefvar) Olson, and the youngest of six children. He was predeceased by his siblings Carl, Linnea, Erik, Leonard, and Kenneth.

A quiet and humble man, Hendry never sought the spotlight. His strength was found in his dependability, his gentle nature, and the quiet ways he showed his love. He was often described simply as a good man—and there is no greater legacy than that.

One of his greatest joys was being “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren, Angelina, Owen, and Kayden. They brought endless pride to his heart, and the love he had for them will remain a part of them always.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years, memories, and unconditional love he gave so freely. Dad will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his quiet kindness.

If ever there was a truly good man, it was Hank. He became part of our family over fifty years ago and treated us like family from the very beginning. Mom loved him like a son, and we loved him like a brother. We miss you dearly but find comfort knowing you are finally reunited forever with your beloved Little Newfie, (Our sister Sue). Rest In Peace, Mr. Olson. With love always, Jo and Terry

If there was ever an angel his name is Hank, Mr Olson, or Hankie. He was one person who would help anyone at any time. Hank was a big part of me and my girls life for 45 plus years. I can't count the number of times Hank helped all my family out. We will miss you sooo much. The only thing that comforts me is Henry will be with his little Newfie. We love you and will miss you.
