There is no way to soften the immense grief felt by hearing the news of Derrin’s passing. I met Derrin during my time working at TPR in life enrichment. I’ll cherish our time playing table bowling, bingo and OKO. I will also cherish our Christmas season together, where Derrin happily agreed to watch Christmas movies every shift I was on…a true Christmas lover!! Derrin was and will always be an exceptional member of Kirkland Lake during his time here and has impacted so many lives with his smile. My deepest condolences to his family, whom I know he loved and received loved by, unconditionally. Derrin is at peace now, and will continue to live on through his legacy and joyful spirit. I will always be reminded of him whenever I hear news of the blue jays, maple leaf’s, Pink, or bocce ball.

SADNESS is a small way to describe my feeling when I heard of Derrin's passing. I first met Derrin 4 years ago when my Brother Sonny went into TPR, just down on Sylvanite from his room, but didn't take long to realize what a Special person he was. Loved his Leafs & Jays. He was so smart in so many ways, he knew when I was there (almost every day) and he would howler for me to go and help him put his TV on, we joked about the wins and losses from the night before. I always brought him back something from our Jays trips to Boston, Baltimore and Pittsburgh just last year. I truly will miss that face and smile. RIP my Friend, and thanks for the Friendship.

Our deepest sympathies to your family. I remember Derrin as a joyful, intelligent individual who could light up a room. He impressed me with how he took a challenge and found a way to make his life better. I’m sure he will be missed by his family and friends.
