It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Christine Legault, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, niece, and friend, who passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Kirkland Lake on December 17, 1961, Christine would have celebrated her 65th birthday this year.
Christine was the mother of Ryan (Sam), Darcy (Carissa), and Jennifer (the late Nicholas Morell). Her legacy continues through her many adored grandchildren: Alexsa, Aaliyah, Abbey Anna, and Austin (Ryan's children); Ronin, Kairi, Mason, and Miia (Darcy's children); and Angel-Love and Destiny (Jennifer's children).
She is predeceased by her parents, Marcel and Barb Legault, and her brother, Paul Legault, with whom she is now peacefully reunited. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and her surviving siblings, Sandi, Debbie, and Kevin, who will forever cherish her memory. Christine will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wide circle of friends.
Christine dedicated many years of her life to helping and serving others, working as a healthcare worker, a bartender and waitress, and as a talented cook in many different establishments. Beyond her work, she was a remarkably gifted and diverse artist. Her creativity knew no bounds—displaying her paintings on canvases ranging from paper to natural slabs of wood, creating beautiful sculptures, and designing imaginative outdoor playhouses and whimsical garden gnome displays.
She was a vibrant part of her family network. Whether she was sharing laughs, amazing everyone with her amazing cooking, or sending meaningful messages of encouragement for her family's creative pursuits, she always made sure the people in her life felt seen and supported. Her warmth, generous heart, and protective spirit will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who knew her.
A Gathering to honor Christine’s life, legacy, and wishes will be held on, Saturday November 28 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative,
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CJKL Christmas Wish or a charity of your choice.
Rest easy, Crissie. Your beautiful creative spirit and warmth will forever live on in our hearts
