To family & friends & to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Could use you now old girl, but it’s your privileged and well deserve rest time now. Thought of you about a month ago and gave you a call, sure glad I did now. Maybe that the sweetness of this gal to teach us to think of others before ourselves, which made her the charmer that she is and was. Keep the bike lanes open we’re not far behind.

So very sorry Kyle and Grant and your families. We did not know Vanessa in her capacity as a nurse, but had occasion to see her at the hospital. We know Vanessa from the ball field. An ardent fan when our sons played along with Grant and Kyle. She was the spirit and highlight of each game. She knew ball and occasionally had a disagreement with the umpire. Most of the time she was correct and we cheered when she made the umpire reconsider his call. A lovely lady who will be missed.

Losing Vanessa really fills me with sadness. She is one of those people you thought and hoped would outlive you. Bigger than life itself, she did everything with a sincere heart; Compassionate, empathetic and caring, but, the best part was, she’d tell you “where the bears doodoo in the buckwheat” and you always knew where you stood with her. I loved that about her. For years we played baseball together and as with all things in her life, Vanessa played hard and good. I can still see her run those bases as if the devil himself was chasing her. Parting ways after baseball didn’t mean you had lost a friend; Vanessa was a friend for life and seeing one another, we’d always pick up where we left off. Not only was she an icon in King Kirkland, her fun loving personality went everywhere she went. This world has lost a jewel of a person.

So saddened to hear of Vanessa’s passing. We were childhood friends in King Kirkland.
I recall many evenings going with Vanessa and her Mother (Eva) to clean the classrooms at the King school.
I recall the day she met Ira and came to tell me how she was in love and this was her forever after!!
So many years have passed and I moved away from the area and we lost touch - but never our memories.
My sincere condolence's to her family.
