Simone Proulx

I am very saddened to hear of Simone's passing. She was a neighbor for many years and a member of the Encore Club on a regular basis. I will miss her smiling face and have missed her attendance at Karaoke nights where she would sing her song which will always remind me of her. She attended Craft Lunch sessions every week and always had a smile when she came to the club. She was loved by everyone who knew her. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to her family at this difficult time. May She Rest in Peace!

Even though I’ve lost my voice, I would have sung your song at the club Saturday night. Simone, you thought us is that we didn’t have to be perfect but willing to give it a try. I guess that’s why there’s so many “chançon à répondre” in French kitchens.

I have many wonderful memories of matante Simone as I was growing up. I spent a lot of time with Lucille & Francine who are still my sistacousines. I must admit, as a kid, she would scare me and then show my love with her great smile. Thanks to matante, there were family reunions, family trips and milestone birthdays where we got to spend time together, a.k.a. Party, as adults. I’m sad that these occasions will probably not happen again, but the memories and the pictures will live on. Last time I saw her, when I told her I loved her, she asked me how I knew that and I told her that I’ve known her all my life. She smiled….

I grew very close to Simone in the years that I knew her. She was a sweet, kind lady, who always greeted me with a smile. When she finally gave up her house to move to Timmins, she seemed to be at peace with the idea, and agreed that it was time to be looked after instead of being the one to "Look after everyone ". I will miss you, my dear, sweet friend. RIP

I loved Simone so much!! Marilyn and I would pick her up to go to crafts. She really loved going. What a beautiful lady inside and out!! Will really miss her. R.I.P. Simone

I spent many times at the Proulx household in the 70s. Your parents were always so very welcoming - your mom always greeting me with her warm smile. I will treasure the talks Simone and I had at the Encore Club. She was always so proud to get up there and sing. Her strength and determination was admired. My sympathies to family and friends.
