It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond Joseph Legault beloved brother, uncle and friend who passed away on January 3,2026 in Kirkland Lake.
Born in Kirkland Lake to proud parents Rene and Madeline he was loved and surrounded by six brothers a sister and many nephews and niece's.
Raymond early years often found him in the forests around Kirkland Lake fishing and hunting. He wasn't daunted by cold weather often leaving home in the early hours to walk the trails to gull lake to ice fish or check his snares.
Although disabled by a drunk driver in his early 20s Raymond persisted in spite of his disabilities not once dwelling in self pity or expressing blame for his unfortunate reality.
Raymond was an inspiration to us and our memories of his life fill our hearts with joy. He will be greatly missed.

The Legault Family
It was very sad to hear the news concerning Raymond! Having taught him at KLCVI and seeing him about town in later years he always seemed to have that great sense of humour and positive approach to life . His terrible accident did not change him!
One of my very favourites!! He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him . My condolences to all!

Absolutely wonderful guy. Will be missed by all who knew him. Was always eager to lift the heavier stuff when fishing, despite his injuries he trudged on remaining the same kind person I met when I was 15. And he had a great laugh, too. My condolences to all of his siblings who were there for him. You inspired me with your never give up attitude. A true survivor. RIP Ray
