It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luigi Dreosto on August 25, 2026, at the age of 88.
Luigi was the beloved husband of Rosemary (née Sturgeon), who remained devotedly by his side to the very end. He is survived by his son Roy (Lori) and his daughter Laura. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Alexandra, Kayla, Andrew, Liam, Myles, and Erika, as well as his great-grandson, Jude.
He leaves behind his sisters Filena and Freda, brother-in-law Jerry, sister-in-law Lynda, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Luigi was predeceased by his parents, Ruggiero and Iside; his son, Michael; his brother, Willy, and sister-in-law Mary; and his sister-in-law, Eileen.
Luigi led a full and vibrant life. An avid golfer and fisherman, he loved nothing more than traveling and spending time outdoors. Above all else, his greatest joy was gathering with his family for celebrations.
As per Luigi's wishes cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Luigi’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements entrusted to the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative.

Lou, The King. I nick named him the King because every time he crossed Rima court on his way to Angelo's he would talk to every neighbour and walk like he didn't have a care in the world. His personality was larger than life. I missed him after I moved.
My sincere condolences to your entire family. God Bless

Rest in peace Mr. Dreosto! Our thoughts go out to Mrs Dreosto and Roy and Laura and the rest of the family.
I don't think I ever called you Lou or Luigi, you were always Mr. Dreosto to me out of total respect. I have many happy memories of Christmas eves with the Dreosto's on Rima Court. There's other great memories we can't get into here, like hockey rink brawls, or getting into the home-made gappa in the backyard.
In our thoughts,
Dave, Katie and Madi Mason
