Kathleen Judith (Judy) Ann Mullins was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to the late Martin Bernard (1969) and Mary Isabel (nee O'Grady) Mullins (2000). With the exception of short stints in her youth in Vancouver and Toronto, she proudly made her life in KL, working 44 years in various office roles with the school board before retiring in 2013. It's safe to say every student who passed through KLCVI and KLDCS during those years had their lives touched in some way by Mrs. McLeod. Judy was predeceased in 2016 by her eldest brother, Harold, her infant sister Norma (1951), and her nephew Blaise (2012). She is survived by her big brothers and sisters-in-law Ambrose and Gail, Don and Diane, and Stan and Jane, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Judy's greatest joy of being a mother to two daughters, Tracey Burton (Steve Searle) and Cynthia McLeod (Patrick Roy), was only topped by being a grandmother to Zachary, Sydney, and Carley Burton. Every Christmas, Gramma would roll up with a car packed with gifts, which she'd joke was just her way to make sure she could play with them. Our family would bond over intense games of Harry Potter Clue, the great gingerbread house making debacle, and both Star Wars and Harry Potter movie marathons.
To say that mom and gramma will be missed just doesn't cut it.
The family would like to thank Ontario Health at Home, the VON, ParaMed, Community Paramedicine, and the chemo team at the Kirkland hospital for their assistance during mom's more than two-year battle with cancer. Special thanks to brother Ambrose, niece Christine McBean, and friends Paula and Roland Cardozo for their help when we weren't here.
The family will receive guests at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. for a chapel service which is also called a Funeral Liturgy Outside the Mass. The family invites friends and those who knew Judy to join them for a reception and time of remembrance at the funeral home following the chapel service. Burial in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery will be help privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society of Canada in her memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
Arrangements entrusted to the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative

To the Mullins Familes. Please accept my very sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved sister. Judy and I were very good friends at Hoky Name School. After school we would go to my house on Second St.and dress up in my MOMS “party dresses”. What fun we had. I have thought of Judy many times over the years.

To all of Judy's Family
My sincere condolences in your loss . I remember her as a neighbour a few houses away from us on Rowan Ave. where we lived for 13 years. She was always so pleasant when we met long after our family moved to another location. I will remember her in my prayers. May she rest in Peace.
