On January 11, 2026 Jerry Gareh passed away, at the age of 80, with his children, Alison and Jonathon, by his side.
Born October 31, 1945, Jerry lived his entire life in Englehart. Working as a kid in his father’s grocery store, and later with Northern Telephone until his retirement. Jerry also served his community as a volunteer firefighter. And he was known for his love of cars, car racing and his Harley.
A small gathering for family and close friends will be held in the spring.
The family extends a special thank you to the ICU and Palliative Care staff at Kirkland Lake Hospital for their care and compassion. Memorial donations in Jerry’s name may be made to the Blanche River Health Foundation.
Sympathy Messages
Sorry to hear off Jerry’s passing. I lived across the street from him growing up. We travelled to high school together. Rode motorcycles together. New his mom and dad and brothers, and sister. Went to party’s together. He liked to have a good time. Use to see him at the coffee shop. Will always remember him.

So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I worked with Jerry at Northern Tel and very much enjoyed his straight forward attitude and comments. After he retired I would always see him at the coffee shop and we would catch up. He was a great mentor for me at work and we also shared a passion for our fire departments. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.
