Harry John Cale, known as Sonny to most, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at the age of 81.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sharon, and his son Michael (Christine Lapointe). He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Yannick (Megan Lacarte) and Jordan Cale.
Also cherishing Sonny’s memory are his sister Judy Gervais, who will especially miss their visits and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and her husband Richard Gervais, along with their daughters Kim and Kara. He is also survived by his brother Norman Cale and his wife Maria (Stabryla) Cale, and their daughter Norma.
Sonny was predeceased by his beloved son, Hugh, and was lovingly known as “Pops” by his boys, Hugh and Mike.
Sonny had a lifelong passion for all things mechanical, whether it was cars, mining equipment, small engines, or just about anything that needed fixing. He was happiest in the garage, enjoying the solitude and satisfaction of working with his hands and bringing something back to life.
A special shout out goes to all the Adams Mine gents. Dad sure loved the gang.
He also had a deep love for fishing, hunting, and cottage life, and he treasured the simple joys those things brought him.
And of course, a shout out to the Tim Horton’s gang. He sure loved you guys too.
(Hugh and I used to call it the “World Wide Web site” lol.)
In the earlier years, Dad and Mom were blessed with many wonderful friends, far too many to list, but please know you are remembered, and you know who you are.
In his later years, Dad especially loved the quiet moments spent with Momma, sitting out on the back patio, having a coffee, and shooting the breeze.
Rest easy, Dad. We love you tons.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and personnel at Blanche River Health, Kirkland Lake Hospital, especially the nurses on Sonny’s floor and Dr. Moore. Your care and kindness are deeply appreciated.
A special thank you as well to the staff and personnel at Teck Pioneer Residence (TPR), where Dad was able to spend the final trek of his journey. To all those who shared music, cards, laughter, and companionship with him, you are remembered, and you know who how cherished you are.

In accordance with Sonny's wishes cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private celebration at a later date.
The family welcomes donations in Sonny's memory to Blanche River Health or Teck Pioneer Residence.
