In memory of

Carl Thomen

1958 - 2026

It saddens us to announce that Carl Alexander Thomen passed on February 2, 2026 in

his 67th year. Over the last few years Carl struggled with poor health.

Survived by his loving spouse of 40 years, Diana (DeeDee) Morin, stepdaughter

Sabrina Morin Shelton and family of Belleville , and his sister Joanne and husband

Bruce McDonald of Kirkland Lake. There are also a few cousins and a Aunt and Uncle

who will remember him.

Predeceased by his parents Bruno and Elva (nee White) as well as his brother

Gordon.

Born and raised in the North, Carl returned to Kirkland Lake upon retiring after 30 years

with AutoSystems (Magna) in Belleville, Ont.

He loved the north as much as he loved his Toronto Maple Leafs.

Thanks to the staff at Health at Home who helped to keep him at home, especially

Glenn who visited twice weekly.

Because it’s what he wanted, cremation will take place and there will be no service or

celebration.

Carl and his dry sense of humour will be sadly missed
