It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Aurel “A.J.” John Lauzon on September 12th, 2026, at the age of 79, at the Kirkland Lake Hospital.
Aurel was the beloved husband of Denise (née Roy), who remained devotedly by his side to the very end for nearly 58 years of marriage. He is survived by his son Marc and his daughter Angelle (her husband Rob,) his grandchildren Rebecca, Daniel, & Allison, and his sisters Pauline (her husband Denis,) & Finette (her husband Joey.)
Aurel was born on February 28th in 1947. He was born, raised, and lived most of his life in Kirkland Lake. He was a graduate of K.L.C.V.I. He was a paramedic and Maintenance Manager at the Kirkland District Hospital for many years. Aurel was a “jack of all trades but master of none” as he said. He built the first permanent home on Goodfish Lake and renovated many houses in Kirkland Lake over the years. He was an avid motorcyclist for much of his life always wanting the “prettier & bigger bike.” He enjoyed his retirement with his wife wintering in Florida and spending summers camping in Northern Ontario. He was a dedicated family man who always worked hard to provide a more then comfortable life for his family. He had endless patience and a sense of calm in all situations. He was generous, kind, independent, and always willing to lend a hand.
As per his wishes, Aurel will be cremated and his ashes will be placed in the family niche at the Kirkland Lake cemetery.
Aurel “Dad” you will be greatly missed, but we find relief that you are no longer suffering and finally resting in peace. Take a break “Wholio” you deserve it!!!

AJ was a wonderful man a great helpmate and fantastic friend. We knew him in our mutual community in Haines City Florida. All us Canadians showed the Americans how to have a good time and often AJ was there as the “Leader of the Pack”.
