It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bertrand Aldola Henry Joseph (Bert) Brunet, 67, of Swastika, Ontario, on January 17, 2025, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
A burial of Bert’s ashes will take place in the spring at the cemetery in Belcourt, Quebec, with a date and time to be determined. A celebration of his life will follow, bringing together family and friends to honor his memory.
Bert was born on December 16, 1957, in Senneterre, Quebec, to Henri and Rolande Brunet. A man of great skill and determination, Bert was a hardworking handyman, known for his expertise in carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. In his free time, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to classic rock on cassette, fishing, and taking long truck rides accompanied by his faithful dog, Zeus.
Bert is survived by his spouse, Tena Trealout, and his three daughters: Chantale Brunet, Alexandra Brunet, and Cassandra Brunet. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jocelyne Brunet, Darquise Brunet, Joanne Brunet, Mario Brunet, and Leo Brunet, along with many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Bert’s memory will forever be treasured by his family and all whose lives he touched.
He is reunited in peace with his parents, Henri and Rolande Brunet, as well as his siblings Lisette Brunet, Francine Brunet, Marco Brunet, Jean-Louise Brunet, and Roger Brunet, who predeceased him.
He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
