CONTANT, Raymond “Ray” – It is with deep sadness and a lifetime of fond memories, we announce Ray’s peaceful passing in the comfort of his home, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, surrounded by those he loved. Ray was predeceased by his parents Althea (née Simms) and Arthur Contant.Forever remembered by his brothers and sisters, Diane (Al) Kenney, Sue (Greg) Zorbas, Gil (Michelle) Contant, Pat (Fran) Contant and Larry (Katherine) Contant. Ray was a proud uncle to Chris, Steve, Van, Jason, Peter, David, Jennifer, Lisa, Adam, Stacey- Anne, Samantha, Jessie, Matthew, Chris, Cindy, Tyler and Erin as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews especially Meghan.Ray was well known in Kirkland Lake and would greet people with a big hug and “I know you”! Many will remember Ray as a sports enthusiast and the #1 Maple Leaf fan. Ray’s doodle art and ceramics were noteworthy! He was a proud participant of the Special Olympics. Ray loved to dance and enjoyed listening to country music. He will be missed for his friendliness and his precious smile.Disposition:

Deepest condolences to the Contant and Community Living family. I will never forget the sight of Ray dancing with reckless abandon and joy at one of our arts council shows. We could all learn from him – dance like no one is watching! Rest In Peace Ray!
I know Raymond he was a good athlete. He is a good friend of mine. Everyone at vap going to miss him. I am giving you my condolences to you and your family. I am sorry for loss of Raymond. I went to vap program with Raymond. He well be watching the Ontario special Olympics in Kirkland lake. Raymond well be watching down heaven all every one in the world of Kirkland lake.

To the Contant Family. Let me say that Raymond taught most of the town of KL more than we could ever teach him, but you know that. Your Mom spent her life showing Raymond and us what an awesome person he was. Your love and dedication is inspiring. So sorry to hear of Raymonds passing. I had the please of working with Raymond over the years. Your brother was such a ray of sunshine, so caring, passionate, kind, funny & had the biggest smile that would melt your heart Not to mention, he was a big prankster at times & laughed about it after he played a trick on me. So sorry for your loss. Raymond was a childhood friend. My mother always said she never worried about me when Raymond was there…he was my protector. He never ceased to amaze me with his sports stats and artistic talent. He will be deeply missed by many.

A part of our past was lost yesterday with the passing of Raymond. He was very close to Kay, Gus and Kalvin from the moment he was born and we had infinite fun and laughs throughout his life. He was the second son to Kay And Gus and Raymond had many funny sayings to describe us! OH what a loss we are experiencing!

Raymond was a frequent visitor at MGI. We saw him daily when he would visit for his Diet Pepsi fix. Sometimes once, but usually twice a day. And if Darren happened to be there, Raymond always had a big hug ready for him. We will always remember his pleasant mannerisms, and his always gentle and sincere Thank Yous at every visit. He was a sweet and gentle soul and we will all miss him dearly. Rest peacefully Raymond.

Im so sorry to hear of Rays passing. I have fond memories of him from much of my youth. He was always kind and loving and had one hell of a laugh when you got him going (which wasnt hard to do). He is joining a great group of people who have paved the way before him, but it doesnt help as I know youll miss him a ton. Thinking of you when during these difficult days.

He always brought a smile to our faces, particularly with his pranks he would play on Dad (Doug). Hes likely playing some of those classic pranks on Dad again now. Condolences to the Contant Family…Raymond was such a special person…first met him at the Chateau when my dad was there also, he took a shine to my daughter’s Fisher Price radio…ended up giving it to him, he would run and get it every time we went for a visit, which was almost every day…..he loved music…so sorry for your loss.

Raymond was a customer of ours in the past. We used to take him to Charlton ro spend a week with his friends. He always shouted out ” SHOTGUN ” When he went to Charlton he always brought his fishing gear. When working at ARC Industries he always did quality work.
