BRUNEAU, Colette
1948 - 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Colette Bruneau (née Cheff) in her home in Kirkland Lake on November 20th, 2024.
Born in Cochrane Ontario to Léandre and Gabrielle Cheff, Colette grew up with a strong sense of family with her many siblings. She then carried these values on with her soulmate Paul. Colette was a stay at home mother to Nick, Chantal and Nancy until later taking on full time responsibility of the office and customer service at the family business until retirement.
Since we can remember, Colette had a love of hummingbirds. She looked forward to her summers at the lake every year, where she could feed and admire them while sitting out enjoying the sun and her flowers.
Colette will be remembered for being a woman you could always turn to for a listening ear, gentle open arms, love and acceptance, no matter the situation. She loved to converse, laugh and play games with her siblings, children and grandchildren whom adored her.
Colette is now reunited with her parents Léandre and Gabrielle Cheff, her brother Sylvio, her loving husband Paul as well as the numerous family members she inherited through their marriage. In her final days, she looked forward to these reunions the most.
Colette is survived by her children Nick (Carol) Bruneau, Chantal Bruneau and Nancy Bruneau as well as her Grand children Sophie Bruneau, Devin (Jena) Bruneau, Logan (Kayla) Dubé, Matthew (Erica) Bruneau, Kalvin Bruneau and McKeyah Bruneau. Great grand children Tristan and Islai.
She is also survived by her siblings, Aurèle (Lina) Cheff, Lise (Regean) Castonguay, Yvon (Susan) Cheff, Laurent (Florence) Cheff, Laura (Rudy) Giangualano, Noël (Rosa) Cheff, Liette Cheff, Berthe (Robert) Viau, Carole Decevito, Germain (Lynne) Cheff as well as her honorary “Twisted” sister Pauline Bruneau, siblings in law and many loved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Colette’s life will be held on December 14th, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative (111 Burnside Dr, Kirkland Lake). All are welcome.
