Hannah and family
I am so sorry to hear of your Grandpa’s passing. Hold your memories close.
It is with great sadness that the family of William Vincent Conroy (Vince), announce his death at the Temiskaming Hospital on September 22, 2021 at the age of 86 years, peacefully with his family at his side.
He is survived by his loving children Shelley, Sean (Wendy), and Kim (Henry) Jackson. Grandchildren Malik, Hannah (Nick) Caldwell, Mackenzie and Jordan and Great Grandchildren Troy and Cameron. His sisters Marilyn, Sharon (Leo) Pigeau, Wanda (Mark) Flford, and Laurie (Ron) Lermoine.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, son Kurt and the best canine companion Maggie, as well as sister Gertrude and brothers Terry and Larry.
Vince was born and raised in Cobalt Ontario, the oldest of 8 children born to Bill and Eva Conroy. He met and married the love of his life Dorothy (Dot) in New Liskeard and raised their family there. He worked for Norcast/Wabi Iron Works for 44 years, until his retirement at 65.
He loved to hunt, fish and curl when he was younger. He was a dedicated and hard worker who was happiest spending time with his family. He looked forward to his daily morning coffee/chats with son-in-law Henry and visits with the great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Logan for the years of care, compassion, and respect he has shown Vince. We truly appreciate it.
Special thanks to Cheryl Bakhuis, who cared for our mother at Extendicare for many years and developed a great fondness for "St. Vincent". He truly enjoyed her company until the end.
Thank you to the Temiskaming Hospital nurses and staff. Your care and compassion will not be forgotten.
Donations can be made to the Community Cancer Care, P.0. Box 994 New Liskeard, ON, POJ 1PO.
As per Vince's request, cremation has occurred, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May GOD hold you in the palm of his hand.
