William Kenneth Rice passed away peacefully at the Kirkland & District Hospital with family at his side on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents Hazel & Harry Rice; brothers Harry Jr. & Robert Rice and son in law Don Lauzon. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years Dorothy; daughter Jane Lauzon and grandson Shawn (Sara) Lauzon. He is also survived by his step brothers Scott & Bill (Nancy) Serson and numerous friends & extended family. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the French Family Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the N.C.R.F. (Northern Cancer Research Foundation 41 Ramsey Lake Rd. Sudbury, ON. P3E 5J1).Offer Condolence for the family of William Rice

Our sincere condolences to the Rice family. Bill was always such a gentleman and so pleasant to converse with. We will miss him on his daily excursion to obtain his paper and Brian remembers the fun they had playing slowpitch and the post-game recap later. He was a good guy!
