Wanda Larocque,

WANDA LAROCQUE,

2021

LAROCQUE, Wanda Elizabeth – Wanda passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2012, at the Kirkland & District Hospital. She was born in Germany during WWII to the late John and Zofie Kanafa. At a young age, she immigrated to Canada with her parents and settled in the Kirkland Lake area. She enjoyed participating in the Round Lake Derby for over 20 years. People could often be seen wearing the sweaters, socks and baby outfits Wanda knitted. Like many ladies of the area, Wanda was exceptional at time management; not only did she enjoy her knitting, she found the time to pursue a career as a bookkeeper and raise a family. Wanda had to experience the pain of being predeceased by two of her children: Claudette Lambert and Kevin Larocque. Her family will remember Wanda’s blue eyes, blond hair, beautiful smile, and her positive disposition. Wanda is survived by her: loving husband, Lorne Larocque of Kirkland Lake, ON; daughter, Cheryl Rogalsky of Hannon, ON; son, Richard Ducharme (Linda) of Espanola, ON; seven grandchildren: Kristen, Matthew, Jarren, Kayla, Eric, Madison and Mitchell; a sister, Helen Lineham (Larry) a niece, Shelley and her son, Jesse, as well as a brother, Stan Kanafa (Diane) nieces, Cory and Tina; and her beloved pets Sunny, Pal, Bandit and Frisky. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.Offer Condolence for the family of Wanda Larocque
