Vivian Emma Webber – passed away peacefully at the Kirkland & District Hospital on October 23, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Vivian was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Mamie Miller and son (Larry). She is survived by her husband Joseph Webber and children Donald (Barbara), Gerry (Jane), Brenda (Marc), and Norman. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jessica, Alisha, Christie, Riley, Mackenzie, Ethan, and Noah. Vivian is also survived by her siblings Norma (Len) Surtees, Shirley Desjardins and Gibb Nash. Vivian lived an exciting life, full of adventure and passion. She resided in many places in the North as a child, following her parents to various railroad towns. She also enjoyed reminiscing about the early years spent in Suina, Nicaragua with her husband Joe in the late 1950’s and again on their return in the mid 1960’s. Vivian was a community minded person who always helped those who were less fortunate. She was an active volunteer with the Catholic mission in Suina, helping the Sisters – particularly with those living in poverty. Vivian became an avid golfer during her time living in the Tropics. She continued her passion to golf into her later years with Joe on a regular basis. Vivian also loved baseball and was part of the King Kirkland "Ol Timers" woman’s Slow-pitch team. She always shared many good memories and lots of laughter! Vivian was an avid gardener and took pride in the care and maintenance of her home in King Kirkland. She was particularly fond of the wide variety of perennials that bloomed each year and spent many long hours tending her garden and flower pots. She was a great baker of deserts which were loved by all especially her pumpkin and banana cream pies and brownies! She was a good teacher always eager to share her life learning’s to all that wanted. Vivian loved music; she grew up in a home full of music. Her father was a local square dance caller, Uncles played guitars and fiddles, and she carried this love for music her entire life. We could go on and on about Vivian’s accomplishments; however, to her family she was a loving spouse, a dedicated mother, a grandmother, a good listener, a caregiver, a kind person, a healer, an avid reader, and finally a knowledge seeker! At the request of Vivian, there will be no service. Many thanks the staff on the fourth floor of the Kirkland and District Hospital for their attentive and compassionate care. Donations in Vivian’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (20 Eglinton Avenue West, 16th Floor, Toronto, ON., M4R 1K8) will be appreciated. To celebrate the wonderful life she lived, the immediate family will welcome friends at their home in King Kirkland from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th.Offer Condolence for the family of Vivian Webber
