It is with great sorrow that the family of Velma M. Green announces the peaceful passing of their Dear Mother at the Kirkland & District Hospital on June 21, 2007 at the age of 86. Velma was predeceased by her loving husband Henry Green. She was born in Ingersoll, ON. on November 25, 1920 and has since resided in Larder Lake, ON. Velma is survived by her 5 loving children, William Green (Esther) of Maple Ridge, B.C., Bruce Green of Larder Lake, Melva Luke (Howard) of Larder Lake, Henry Green of London, ON. and Lorelee Gardiner (Donald) also of Larder Lake. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Sherri, Greg, Ryan, Scott, Neil, Tiffany and Amanda and her great grandchildren Vanessa and Phoenix. Velma was a lifetime member of the Kirkland & District Hospital Auxiliary and of the U.C.W. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses, Doctors and staff at the Kirkland & District Hospital. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2007. A funeral service will follow in the “Teck-Hughes Chapel” of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Velma will be laid to rest in the family plot in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery.
