OLIVER (nee Strickland), Shirley – Peacefully at Teck Pioneer Residence on April 16th, 2014, Shirley has gone to be reunited with her Lord. Born on November 18, 1932 and lifelong resident of Kirkland Lake, graduated from K.L.C.V.I in 1950. She was a devoted member of the congregation of Trinity United Church and volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Keith Oliver; her parents Evelyn (nee Nelson) and Lavern Strickland; her siblings Evelyn Ferguson and Gerald Strickland as well as her step sister Verna Clark. Dearly remembered and forever missed by her daughters Lorrie (Bruce) Johnson of Wetaskiwin, Shelley (Richard) Fraser of Kirkland Lake; 3 precious grandchildren Heather Fraser, Ethan and Craig Johnson. Cremation has taken place and a service in Shirley’s memory will be held in the spring with details to follow. The family wishes to take this opportunity to thank the nurses and staff of Teck Pioneer Residence for the many years of quality care provided to Shirley.
