I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Peter Veinot announces his passing Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Peter loved the outdoors. He was a well known trapper and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Peter was an active member of his community and was involved with many different organizations over the years such as the Larder Lake Fire Dept. where he was a Fire Marshall, Larder Lake First Response Unit, Larder Lake Ski Club, Scout Master, Larder Ski-doo Club, and was a local Historian. He built and repaired numerous homes in Larder Lake and left numerous carpentry projects to family and friends. Peter was a “Jack of All Trades” as he was a Ski-doo dealer; repaired small engines; rented canoes; groomed the cross country trails; built the Larder Lake Ski Club; member of the Ontario Trappers Managers Federation, the Trappers Council and was a senior member of the Turtle Deer Hunting Group and the Citizen Committee. He was predeceased by his wife Murielle Veinot and daughter Linda. Peter will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Darlene; brother Glen (Debbie) Veinot and sister Shirley Smith. He will also be missed by his children Donald (Gayle) Veinot, Audrey (Yvon) Dupuis, Shirley Veinot, Brenda Veinot, Louise (John) Schmidt, Pam Jack and Neil (Melissa) Jack; grandchildren Daniel Gosselin, Lisa Aird, Ryan and Christine Schmidt, Joani Fox, Stanley Veinot and Matthew Veinot and 6 great grandchildren. The Veinot family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Peter will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring.
