Sadly, our family shares the news of the unexpected passing of Neil Simpson on March 1 st , 2024.
Married for over 52 years, Neil leaves behind his loving wife Judy Simpson (Jordan), daughter Jennifer and her husband John (DeSimone), son Jordan and his wife Linda, grandchildren Olivia, Victoria, Cooper, Nichola and sister Marlene Danis, along with many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Gladys Simpson of Dane, and his brother Gary Simpson of Kirkland Lake. Neil grew up in Dane and went to Dane one-room school until attending high school in Kirkland Lake at KLCVI. He was an avid golfer at the Kirkland Lake golf course as it was just up the road from his home and he knew many, many people from Kirkland Lake back in the day.
After leaving Kirkland Lake he lived in a few northern Ontario towns but settled in Longlac where he spent most of his adult years and spent many hours improving his golf skills at the Kenogamisis Golf Club. Neil had numerous friends who were like family and always interested in how everyone was doing and what they were up to. He served his community in many ways, most recently scorekeeping at the Junior Provincial Curling held in Longlac. His love of golf, curling, fishing and playing cards, laughing and having fun was his way of life.
Neil inspired, humoured, loved, and positively affected so many people. A man that loved to smile, joke, and most importantly listen to your problems, even if he wasn't invited to (LOL).
If so desired, donations are welcome toward the Kenogamisis Golf Club, 432 Michael Power Blvd, Geraldton, ON P0T 1M0 or online to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kenogamisis Golf Course, 432 Michael Power Blvd, Geraldton, ON P0T 1M0.
