Myrtle Ellerton of Englehart died August 21, 2011, after being ill for two to three months. Born in Matheson, Ontario, on April 11, 1930 to Mildred Norlander and Jack Rae, Mrs. Ellerton was educated in Matheson. She was a mother and wife, and worked as a waitress. Mrs. Ellerton moved to Englehart from Kirkland Lake in 1984. She married Ainslie Ellerton in Matheson on October 9, 1993. Mrs. Ellerton loved animals, camping and gardening. She enjoyed socializing and talking with everyone, and especially enjoyed her church. She was a member of the Living Way Church. Mrs. Ellerton was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Doris Watters and Shirley Ward, her brother Johnny Rae, and her stepson Bill Ellerton. She is survived by her husband Ainslie; sisters Violet Shaw, Ritha Griffin, and Madeline Nelson; her four sons Benny, Larry, Eddie, and Steven Prince; her stepchildren Larry and Rick Ellerton, and Jackie Fricker; her grandchildren Megan Woods, Morgan Ellerton, Kaitlen Ellerton, David Ellerton, Quinton Ellerton, Shannon Ellerton, Westley Ellerton, Danny Ellerton, Samantha Ellerton, Kim Kidd, Jason Prince, Stephanie Prince, Angela Cope, Robin Prince, Shawn Prince, Chris Prince, Benjamin Prince, Tyler Prince, Jacob Prince and Diane Prince; and her great-grandchildren Emily Ellerton, Taylor Ellerton, Tamara Ellerton, Blake Ellerton, Jordan Ellerton, Wyatt Cope, Dylan Prince, Jaiden Prince, Logan Kidd, Lainey Kidd, Kyle Prince, and Lynden Prince. The funeral service will take place at the Living Way Church Thursday, August 25, at 11 a.m., and will be conducted by Peter Reul. Pallbearers will be Robin Prince, Shawn Prince, Jacob Prince, Morgan Ellerton, Les McDougall, and Andrew Woods. Relatives attending from out of town include: Robin Prince of Surrey, British Columbia; Angela, Scott and Wyatt Cope of Cranbrook, British Columbia; Ben, Susan and Shawn Prince of Thunder Bay, Ontario; Ritha Griffin and family of Timmins; Bill and Susan Watters of Matheson; Larry Prince of Atlin, British Columbia; Jackie Fricker of Fort McMurray, Alberta; Rick and Pat Ellerton of Ingersoll, Ontario; and Belle Williams and Lionel Williams of Durham, Ontario. Burial will be at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. In memory contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
