Mildred Brace,

MILDRED BRACE,

2021

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Mildred Brace announces her peaceful passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Monday, June 1, 2009. Mildred had a passion for life, she loved people and people loved her. She also enjoyed going to the family cottage in Matachewan, quietly sitting by the river and picking berries. Her second passion was cake decorating. Mildred would get many calls at home to make special cakes for different occasions. She also kept very busy with volunteering her time to work a “tea and bazaar”. Mildred was also an active member with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 for many years. She is already dearly missed by her children Victor & Lourdes of Barrie, ON., Harry of Kirkland Lake and Norm & Bonnie also of Kirkland Lake. Mildred also leaves her dear grandchildren Pam & Mark of Shelburne, ON., Matt & Jill of Orangeville, Jesse of Kirkland Lake as well as her precious great granddaughter Alicia. Mildred will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband James in 2000 and siblings Harold, Wesley and Norma. Family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Bob Weight officiating. Burial to follow at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation (P.O. Box 3000, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3P4).Offer Condolence for the family of Mildred Brace

Victor, Harry, Norman & Families: Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of Auntie Mildred. I don’t think that I have known a more kind and gentle soul. Both your Mom & Dad had a great impact on myself and my brothers and sisters as we were growing up. We could always count on them to be there if we needed them. We will miss her as much as we miss Uncle Jimmy. They will always remain in our thoughts and our hearts. Sue & Ray

Victor, Harry, Norman & Families: Clem & I wish to send our deepest condolences to all of you. Aunt Mildred was a lovely lady who will be greatly missed. Uncle Jimmy & Aunt Mildred always opened their home to us at any time of the day or night (No matter how noisy we were!}. She loved having company and had many stories to tell. She had an amazing memory and could tell us names, birthdays, etc. of all our relatives. I especially enjoyed going to the Teas & Bake Sales at Christmas time with her. She was always looking for small gifts for everyone whether it was homemade mitts or socks or baking for Harry. I will miss her warm smile and kind words for anyone she knew. Vickie & Clem
