Maurice SouriolThe family announces with the deepest sorrow the passing of Maurice Souriol at the Kirkland and District Hospital on May 21, 2016 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ida (L’Heureux) of 50 years, daughter-in-law Sue Tucker, mother Anna Souriol-Lafreniere (nee Barbe), father Elziar Souriol, step father Frank Lafreniere, father-in-law William L’Heureux (Yvonne Paquette), siblings; Grace Barbe (Art), Reta Valliere (Don), Pearl St. Georges, Art Souriol (Pauline), Irene Souriol, and sister-in-law Linda Souriol, brother-in-law John L’Heureux. He leaves behind his children Louise (Wayne Davies), Madeline (Jacques Seguin), Leo, and Maurice Souriol Jr. Known as Pappies to his grandchildren; Cassandra (Brent) Turner, Mark Green, Amanda Tucker, Pierre (Ruby) Seguin, Terrance Souriol, Monique (Jamie) Russell, Yvonne (Zak) Renaud and great grandchildren Taylar Ducharme, Madison Green, Grace Turner and he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and god children. He also leaves to grieve his brothers Armand, Rene, and Albert (Barbara) and his sister Jeanette (Al) Sipperal. The family will welcome friends at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel of the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Donations in Maurice’s memory may be made to the Timiskaming Hospice Palliative Care (145 Government Road East, PO Box 3000, Kirkland Lake, ON – P2N 3P4). Thank you goes out to all the nursing staff in the ICU and the fourth floor as well as the doctors who did everything they could. We would like to thank Auntie Denise for your loving support during this very difficult time. You will be sadly missed but forever in our hearts. To the man with the biggest heart. These last few days I have been struck by grief for my dear brother Maurice. Yet such fond memories I recall in my youth having known him so dear to me, and visits seeing him in Kirkland Lake and here in Quesnel. Alas, due to my own ill health and the distance I am away, I feel remorse for not being there to pay my respects. Nevertheless, I know in the spiritual world he will always be with me.
