It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Gerber on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband Karl and survived by her children Karl Shawn (Delia), and Stephen Dale (Karen).
Mary was born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, and her parents moved and settled in the Kirkland Lake area when Mary was to begin school. This is where she met her long-time best friend Kay (Beaudoin). Here in Kirkland Lake is where she met her husband Karl and married him in 1960.
Mary loved spending time at the cottage. It was her happiest place to be. She loved watching the morning sunrise over Round Lake. It is here that she taught her daughter-in-law Karen how to identify and forage for edible wild mushrooms.
The family would like to express a deep thank you to Danielle Lafond for helping Mary over the last couple of years, allowing her to remain in her apartment and some independence.
Upon Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her ashes will remain at her “happy place” where she will be able to watch the morning sunrise
