I grew up with Mary through highschool and work. We then trained as nurses. It is such a great loss and such a shock to hear of her passing Please accept my deepest condolences to the whole family.

Condolences to the Connolly family.. I trained with Mary in Kirkland Lake and it was a great surprise to end up working together many years laterMary was a kind and compassionate nurse… and a wonderful person . I have a beautiful poem she wrote when my mother passed .. that I will always cherish.

I recall our carefree days as young teenagers and leaving your home in KL with Mary on the back of my motorcycle and you the worried mom in the background telling me to be careful and bring her back safe. My deepest condolences to Marys family and friends. I also worked with Mary for several years at Huntsville Hospital in the ICU. I felt as though I knew her family, just from all her amazing stories. She loved you all so much. What an amazing nurse too. Her patients received top notch care. Her coworkers were always left smiling from her great sense of humour. Heaven has definitely gained an angel.

I was so saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. When I lived in Toronto in the 80s, Maryanne and I had so much fun with Mary in all of our misadventures. Mary always looked out for me wherever we went. I will miss Mary but our memories will live on. Aunt Shirley, and family, may all your memories help to ease the pain and sorrow that you are all feeling. Dear Shirley and the Connolly families: Im sorry I cant be there with you to celebrate Marys extrodinary life albeit much to short. Know I have thought of Mary often and increasingly so after learning she had little time left. I would like to say I write this with admiration and hold Mary in the highest regard for her lifes triumphs amidst her struggles. She was a fighter and so many benefited because of her resilience. So saddened to hear of Marys passing. I worked with Mary at Huntsville Hospital in Emerg. We laughed alot on night shift and over time became good friends. She was a dedicated nurse and showed great compassion and kindness for her patients. She spoke alot about her family and how much she missed Kirkland Lake. It wasnt surprising when she returned to Kirkland Lake after she retired. My condolences to Marys brothers and sisters and her Mom. Although I never met any of you, I felt I knew you from Mary talking about her family and the great love she had for all of you. Part of me still smiles when I think of her. Dear Shirley, Cathy, John, Martin, Maxine, Colleen, Don, Paddy, Kelly, Liseanne, Cheryl, Ken, Kevin, Patti and all of your extended family. We will forever remember Marys kindness, beautiful smile, twinkling eyes and quick wit. Visits with our cousins in Kirkland Lake after the grocery run were always the highlight. The stories and laughter seemed endless, usually involving Uncle Con but the backstory was often filled in by Mary, Cathy, Colleen and Cheryl. There was so much warmth in Aunt Shirleys and Uncle Cons home and Mary usually led the way, ensuring we had a drink or snack and, for sure, a laugh. Although many cousins have drifted to various locations across the country, our hearts are full from the memories created in Kirkland Lake. Marys passing affects us all, in multiple generations, yet if there is a silver lining at a time like this, losing her has reinforced how lucky we were to be part of such a large extended family that continues to maintain a strong connection. The Connollys have always respected their northern roots by making the pilgrimage home to KL when possible and were always warmly welcomed by Uncle Con, Aunt Shirley and their family. Mary will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. May she rest in peace and may you somehow find comfort in knowing that she was loved by many.

Mary was a wonderful nurse to work with and an honour to her profession. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to her family and friends.

I had the privilege of working with Mary at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Emergency Dept. She was a truly lovely human being with a huge heart and a passion for nursing. Her patients were always her number one priority…and she took care of her colleagues as well! You always could count on a fresh pot of coffee waiting for your day shift when Mary was working nights. I have such fond memories of her time here with us and am sending my deepest sympathies to her family and friends in Kirkland Lake. May she rest in peace.
