Dear Marg and family: Rory & I are so very sorry to learn of the passing of your dear Leo. What a gentleman; what a sportsman; was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all who knew him. May God Bless You.

To the Puppa Family, My condolences go out to the entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Leo from 1980 to 1985 when I worked in the Main Office at KLCVI. Leo was a soft-spoken, polite and very intelligent man who was admired by all of us. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

Dear Margaret and your loving family, We send our heartfelt sympathy to you all. There are so many great times to remember with you both. New Years Eve at the club, struggles on the golf course, and the infamous Halloween party’s at Gigi and Jim’s, silly costumes and all. Now we say farewell to a Christian gentleman who was so nice to know. As Ever,Harold and Barb

Marg, I just want to add that I think Leo’s autobiography is amazing. What a priceless gift to pass on to his kids and grandkids, especially the stories of his early days. They’ll have a better understanding of their heritage.Reading all those details makes me realize how oblivious I was to the hardships that faced so many of my classmates. We just all seemed like equals, whether we were Italian, Polish, French, Ukrainian, Irish, Jewish, Catholic, lawyers’ kids or miners’ kids. What a melting pot KL was! We went to school and juvenile hockey games (didn’t Leo play goal for Holy Name?), played sports, dated, went to school dances and the Orange Hall…Leo’s memories make me wish now that I’d paid more attention to what was going on in other kids’ lives. I’ll be thinking of you and your family at Holy Name on Monday evening, and sending up lots of good Irish prayers for all of you.

Marg, Wayne MacAlpine forwarded the news about Leo to dozens of former KL-ers, and I’m so glad he did. It doesn’t seem like 55+ years since we were at KLCVI. It’s a testimony to your love for each other that you were still together after so many years.I’m glad that you got to spend years in Florida, though it must have been hard to leave KL, with all its good friends and memories. I’m so sorry that you’ve lost him. I hope he was spared a lot of suffering. I’m sure there will be lots of stories told about him at his funeral and memorial service. I hope the love of your family and friends, and your many wonderful memories, give you strength, comfort and peace. Sincerely, Norah Burns White
