It is my privilege to have lived next door to Judith and Eric for 29 years. I could not ask for better neighbours. Eric and Judith impressed me with their care and concern for nature, the environment and fairness to animals. Judith and Eric suffered a lot over the last two years as they faced her cancer together and their love for each other was highly evident. I remember fondly Judith, Eric and Judith’s sister Sue, from England, visiting last summer at our cottages on Round Lake, eating blueberry pie and picking Saskatoon berries. I am glad that Judith and Eric got to do some travelling abroad after she retired. She was my good neighbour, my friend and my very competent, fair and caring lawyer. Other fond memories are of seeing Judith and Eric enjoying simple pleasures together, tossing a softball for baseball practice in front of their house, picking up our dogs, Sarah and Cocoa for walks. Judith, you’re memory and your spirit will live strong. Blessings Eric to you and your family.

I think we’re so fortunate to be able to remember her smiles and her enthusiasm for so many things. I remember on one of our visits to Swastika how much we enjoyed her as a tour guide as we explored Kirkland Lake and area. We were also very fortunate to experience a number of her meals. Her culinary skills were second to none and you could just see how much she enjoyed the preparation and the ultimate joy that we experienced with every bite. We were so sad to hear of Judith’s passing. We will always remember her wonderful hospitality – when all 6 of us descended on you (“Aunty Judith let us put sugar on our cornflakes!”) and when I (Jan) visited alone and was treated to four different curries! Over 30 years ago both of you came up to see us in Webequie, where supplies were limited, but that didn’t bother Judith at all – she made a delicious gourmet supper one night – using pike and canned tomatoes (!) – now that was a true test of culinary ability! We remember Judith’s legendary ability to take on a challenge. She’d fearlessly take the lead during Nigerian motorbike trips . . . then there was law school and a thriving law practice. Lastly, we remember with profound sadness how she handled the last months of her life with such courage. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Eric Dear Judith – rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Eric and the entire family. Judith and I were classmates in law school and bar admission course. There was a small group of friends who banded together during that time. All of us had a close and lasting relationship with Judith. Much fun was had in Swastika and Kirkland Lake skiing. Her sense of humour and what she determined was appropriate will be sorely missed. I wish the family strength during this incredibly difficult period. May her memory be a source of comfort to all of you.

My thoughts are with you Eric and family. I work at the Small Claims Court in Haileybury and I have had the privilege of knowing Judith as a lawyer and deputy judge. I will miss her and her sense of humour.

Eric and all the Munn Family We are so sorry for your loss. We will all miss Judith so much, her wit and wisdom, her generosity, and her wonderful participation in whatever was going on. Mum and Dad (Anne and Peter Ginn) were very pleased when you and Judith moved North, so near them. Judith was so kind to them and they loved her dearly. We so enjoyed seeing her at Teds annual party, and our times at Kenogami, the burns, dinners, and just having tea around the fireplace. It wont be quite the same without Judith there with us. Our thoughts go to all Judith’s family and friends on this sad occasion. Thinking of Sue and Ian and their family we are sorry for your loss. I was so very sad to hear of Judith’s passing. I knew her both professionally and personally. I never thought twice about asking for her help. She was upfront, trustworthy and never “beat around the bush”. She was kind and caring, a real lady!!!! She will be dearly missed by the community of Kirkland Lake. My condolences to her entire family.

It has been said that you can judge a person’s true character by the way she treats her fellow animals. Well Mrs. Munn was up there with the best of them. I had the privilege of working for Mrs. Munn for 9 years as a student. One year, she heard that some local businesses were going to be exterminating bats that had set up residence in their storefronts. I arrived at work and she handed me a bag and some gloves. We drove downtown and then she explained the plan – we were going to rescue the bats and release them in the wild. I followed Mrs. Munn up and down Government Road as she carefully removed the bats from the corners of the entry ways and placed them gently into the bag I was holding. I believe I was quivering more than that bag of bats! The bats found a safe home in Swastika. I learned a lot during those 9 years but this lesson hit home the most. Always defend those who are most vulnerable. Those who had Mrs. Munn as an attorney knew her compassion.We have lost a true gem.

I am so saddened to say goodbye to a wonderful mentor and friend. Judith taught me everything I know about the law and quite a few life lessons. We laughed together and cried together and I truly believe that I am a better person for having known her. Judith, you will be missed by many and forever in my thoughts and heart. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Judith for over 30 years. She was a kind and caring person who supported people with the utmost compassion and dignity. She always found such meaningful lessons in difficult situations. I will miss her wisdom and most of all our long chats. Such an inspiration to us all. She will sadly be missed by many. Sending my deepest sympathies to Eric and the family during this difficult time. May you RIP my dear friend.
