JACK, John `Oliver`
My Dad, Mr. John Oliver Jack who passed away peacefully at Northview Nursing Home, Englehart, with his loving nieces Ellen, Anne and Vicky by his side on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the age of 87. Dad and Mum, Catherine (neé McLean) were married for 47 years but after Mum`s untimely death in 2002, he found loving companionship with Helen Berringer until he entered Northview Lodge. John is survived by his loving daughter Catherine Davidson of Scotland. He had only one grandchild, Helena-Catherine, of whom he was very proud, affectionately calling her `Dolly Punkins`. Dad was the best example I know of someone who turned their life around to become a greater and better person - he acknowledged his faults and mistakes in his life and did his best to correct them. He had a quick temper, but it was like a brief, summer storm and sunny skies always followed. Dad loved wild flowers, driving, rhubarb, and his favourite, redcurrant pie. He was a man of few words, but those words were full of wisdom and understanding. He was loved by many, many people, a charming and courteous man. It was a privilege to be his daughter.
