Jennet Amelia Jack,

JENNET AMELIA JACK,

2021

JACK, Jennet – It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jennet peacefully on the morning of March 31, 2010, with her daughter Edith by her side. Jennet was born on June 25, 1916 to Robert and Edith Plaunt of Armstrong Twp. She married Arnold Jack on December 13, 1939. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before his passing in January of 2009. Jennet and Arnold moved to Larder Lake in 1940. In 1952 they purchased their home on 7th Avenue where they lived together for 55 years, when for health reasons Jennet entered the Kirkland Lake Hospital in October of 2007. She was moved to Extendicare in April 2008 where she remained until her passing. Jennet was a devoted wife and mother who derived much satisfaction from taking care of her family. She liked to go Berry picking and making jam with the fruits of her labour. Working in her flower garden and seeing all the colours gave Jennet great pleasure. Jennet also like reading poetry and her grandchildren were often amazed when she would recite a short poem that was appropriate to the activity they were doing. As a former member of Larder Lake’s St Andrews United Church and the Larder Lake Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary, Jennet was often called upon to do baking for their various functions. Jennet was predeceased by her husband Arnold in 2009, sons William (Sonny) in 1952 and Henry in 2000; grandson Michael Davis in 1988. She was also predeceased by her parents Robert and Edith Plaunt; brothers Cameron, Bob, Bill, Francis and Malcolm; sisters Mary Belle Fleming and Florence Rooney. Jennet is survived by sons Melvin of Larder Lake, David (Leah) Courtenay of British Columbia, Randy (Donna) of Dane, Allan of Larder Lake; daughters Jean Davis of Bradford, Lucy Mortson (Alan) of Orangeville and Edith Bender (Dave) of Kitchener. Also surviving are grandchildren Kathy Davis, Pam and Niel Jack, Peter (Nicole) and Eric (Kelly) Mortson, Robin Mulhall (Simon), Jaime Jack, Robert, William and David Bender; great grandchildren Kimberly Davis, Brayden and Ashley Mortson, Claire Mortson, Derrick, Malcolm and Katie Mulhall, Brendon Tooney and Nathan Bender. Jennet is also survived by her sisters Betty Naismith of Calgary and Marlene Arbuckle (Ron) of Kirkland Lake, five sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will not be any service for Jennet at this time. The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Jennet at a later date.Offer Condolence for the family of Jennet Amelia Jack
