Joanne and family
My sincere condolences. Your dad was an amazing gentleman.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Fennah on Friday June 16, 2023 at the age of 100.
Howard was born in Cobalt on May 24, 1923 and moved to Kirkland Lake at the age of 8 where he spent the remainder of his life. He often talked about his first job which was delivering milk by horse and buggy but he was most proud of his career with NorthernTel and would always say he had been up every telephone pole from Temagami to Hearst.
He was happiest when he could be outdoors whether it be fishing, hunting, boating with his buddy, Jiggy, visiting neighbours on his 4 wheeler or tinkering with any number of building/repairing projects.
Even in his later years, it was unusual to see him without some kind of tool in his hands.
He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Joanne Whipple (James) of Kirkland Lake, his grandchildren, Kim Roberge of Kirkland Lake and Shawn Whipple (Diana) of Thunder Bay along with his great-grandchildren, Patrick Roberge (Chloe Bishop) of Cobalt, Lianne Roberge (Logan) of Sudbury, Cameron and Aaron Whipple of Thunder Bay and his great-great-grandchildren, Howard and Beverley Roberge of Sudbury. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Sharon, Patricia, Lorraine, Rene, Becky, Valerie, Cindy and Tammy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Nellie Fennah, his brother, William Fennah, his sisters, Doreen Hockridge and Irene Fennah along with his wife of over 50 years, Gabrielle Fennah nee
Lamothe and his second wife Marion Fennah nee Cline.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to the incredible staff at TPR for their amazing care and understanding in his last few months, to Cindy MacKinnon for her support and for making his final
wish come true along with his friend Vicky for her loving companionship.
Please join us in celebrating Howard's life on Saturday the 15th of July, 2023 at the Kenogami Fire/Community Hall from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
