So many fond memories come to me as I reflect on Grandmas wonderful life. She was a strong, and confident person with such a zest for life. Grandma was always so giving and thoughtful and her independence so admirable. Her humor, overall good nature and endearing smile will never be forgotten. I was always very proud and honored to be her grandson, and we will miss her dearly. Our thoughts and love go out to Aunt Linda, Aunt Maureen, and Dad(Jack) Mike, Jen, Luke and Brooklyn ( Grandson and Great Grandchildren of Hazel)

My memories of Aunt Hazel are rich and sweet even though opportunities to connect over the years were spaced far between due to geography. I’ll never forget the memorable Croxall Family Reunion that she organized to bring all of us together in Kirkland Lake years ago. What a time we had… sharing family stories, reminiscing about places and events in Kirkland Lake and getting acquainted with cousins that had never met, walking down Third Street to view the old family home – such a wonderful weekend. Hazel had a way of making you feel special and of import to her …. I always enjoyed her visits and hearing stories about my Dad, Don, when he was a boy. I loved to hear her stories of what it was like living with so many brothers! I’m truly sorry to hear of her passing and of the loss to the McBain family, but in my heart and in my memories, Aunt Hazel was, and will always be, ‘one of a kind’ and forever treasured. In love, Donna

It is with great admiration and love that I reflect on the legacies that Grandma has left to our family. She never stopped learning (quite possible had more computer knowledge than me). Never stopped caring (was still trying to help others when she was at Extendicare). Always had a great sense of humour (was cracking jokes while in ICU)! Most importantly Grandma taught us all that when something seems difficult, Dare to do it anyway! So proud to be her Granddaughter! Lots of love to Aunt Linda, Aunt Maureen and of course Dad (Jack) Cathy, Kevin, Jake and Kai (Granddaughter and Great grandchildren of Hazel)

My sincere condolences to the family of Hazel. I knew her well in Kirkland Lake as I was also a member of the Encore Club and lived in Kirkland at that time. A great lady she was. Recognized her in the picture. Rest in peace sweet, sweet Hazel.

Hazel was one of my supervisors when I worked as a supper girl after school. I think her and Fran had soft spots for us girls. Condolences on your loss. Therese

Linda, Maureen, Jack and families We were so saddened to hear of Hazels passing. Our families go back four generations, McBains, Bests and Hamilton’s. Hazel was a very special lady and we will all miss her. She was a dear friend of my mother Hazel; they both were born in Cobalt, lived in KL most of their life, belonged to the Encore club, played cards together and shared many a good laugh. No doubt they are doing just that now! Thinking of you all. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. LOVE leaves memories no one can steal.” Linda, Bill, Kelly, Tracy, Andrew and families
