I have many good memories of George over the years: going to school with him at the Marquis School House where all the kids would ski to school in the winter, skiing the Kenogami Loppets with him in the 80s, and last but not least George not sharing his blueberry patch locations with me. Recently a few of us old time friends went to Georges with a Birthday Cake to celebrate his birthday. George played his Accordion; it was a really nice visit that we all enjoyed. I only wished we had did this more often. George will be missed. Sincere Condolences to Georges Family. Toivottavasti Siela on mustikoita taivaassa! Helen and Family

We will remember George, the very kind and warm hearted relative for us, far from Canada. George or Yrjö, as we called him, was a cousin to our father, but they never met. However, Yrjö met some other of his cousins when he visited in Finland and Yrjö was a good friend to them. We met Yrjö and now we are so pleased to have been known him. He was one of the few finnish speaking relatives and guide for us during our visit in Canada, some years ago. Also he was our guest in Finland, for a while. He was so familiar since the first moments. He got to live a long life. Our condolences to his family.

Sincere condolences to all of the family. I always enjoyed meeting George when he came to see Annie at Tweedsmuir and often at McDonalds or Pagoda. He would always tease me about keeping an eye on Annie when playing cards and scrabble. I would tell him she taught me so well that none of my friends will play the game with me. Rest in Peace George I will miss seeing your smile.

I never met Georges but I believe he was a friend of my father’s – and that he built the sleep camp at Len’s Temagami cottage. He was liked and respected by Len and his family. I am so sorry for this loss.

I met George many years ago while working in the bush. I never saw him without his permanently fixed smile. He was a gentle fellow and when you made friends with him , you had the best. There is a void now that can never be filled. I miss you Sir.
