Sadly I read of your loss. Years ago I did some work for the Ede family, and enjoyed my best lunch breaks ever around their kitchen table. Time passes but we never forget. Better people you will never find. My heart and prayers go out to you all. Stan Dickinson

Frederick John Ede passed away at the Extendicare Kirkland Lake on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Survived by his wife Clem (neé Groulx) and by his children – Ric (Linda) Ede, Doreen (Steve) Loach, Danny Ede, Michael (Carole) Callahan, Aline Wilson, Kenny (Donna) Callahan and Leonard (Michelle) Callahan. Sadly missed by his brother John Ede and sister Molly Hayes. Fondly remembered by his 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Fred & Florence (neé Price), by his brother Bill Ede and by his sisters Olive Ede and Vera Hayes. Fred was an avid fisherman and moose hunter. He enjoyed a good card game and was a proud WWII veteran. Visitation will be held at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, July 22, 2007 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Legion Service at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Funeral Home on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Fred will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery following the service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 (P.O.
