Doing some reading about KL and saw this article about your mom. I remember growing up and knowing her as a lovely lady and wonderful mom. She was a member of our church and worked along side my mom Vera and friend Phyllis King, who both lived on Harding Avenue. My mom Vera, passed away a yr. ago at age 96, she lived a long and wonderful life as your mom did. You will certainly miss her but have wonderful memories as both Susan and I had of our mom’s. Elsie Murphy (1921-2015)It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Frances Murphy at the Kirkland Lake Hospital on February 21st in her 95th year. Elsie wife of the late Allan Murphy of Kirkland Lake is survived by her two children Margo Clayman of Guelph and Harry Murphy of Terrace BC, five grand children; Jonathan Clayman (Jessica), Matthew Clayman(Inga), Kevin Murphy(Mandy), Travis Murphy and Cassandra Murphy. Also fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Elsa Murphy and son-in-law Michael Clayman. On Saturday May 23, 2015 a memorial service will be held at 2 pm from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 7 Kirkland Street, followed by a remembrance reception in the lower level activity area.
