Mr. Edward Laframboise died peacefully at Northview Nursing Home, Englehart, on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the age of 85. Born August 8th, 1925 in the Township of Hilliard to René Hervé and Rose-Anna ( Renaud ) Laframboise. During his youth, Edward worked with his father in forestry, farming and also at the Thornloe Cheese Factory. He married Yvonne Blain October 1st, 1946, together they purchased his father’s dairy farm in Hilliard Township which they operated successfully for over 33 years while raising their large family. Mr. Laframboise served the Township of Hilliard for over 30 years first as an active councillor then as Reeve for 3 terms. He was also a member of the Temiskaming Hospital Board representing the municipalities of Hilliard, Harley & Thornloe. Edward was respected by his peers for his politeness & genuine hospitality. He enjoyed company, always ready to hear a good joke or one-liner that zipped around the dinner table when all the kids were home. His physical strength was remarkable, his calloused hands massive, yet gentle & protective. Edward was predeceased by his devoted wife of 63 years, Yvonne in 2009, his infant daughter Jeanette, his sister Annette (Aurele) Lacasse, his brothers Léo and Ernest and his son in-law Robert Adams(in 2008). Sadly missed by his 11 children : Denise (Ralph) Marchese of Woodbridge, André (Réjeanne Drouin) of Hilliard, Roland (Denise Loranger) of Earlton, Alice Monette of Kirkland Lake, Maurice (Laurie Inglis) of Earlton, Carole (late Robert Adams) of South Porcupine, Hector (Louise Wark) of Earlton, Claude (Louise Leblanc) of Thornloe, Claire Salmon of North Bay, Gilles (Anne Morin) of Rockland, Anne (Alain) Fiset of New Liskeard and 31 grand-children, 30 great grand-children and 2 great-great grand children. Also left to mourn are his sisters Irene Deline of Burlington and Rollande Arsenault of North Bay. The family of the late Mr. Edward Laframboise wishes to thank Pauline Labbé for her devoted care and friendship and the staff at Northview Nursing Home. Visitation will take place at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, on Friday December 17, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 3:00 pm. Pat Roberts officiating.
