I only knew Edith from volunteering at Extendicare. The last I seen her she was trying so very hard to get her Christmas cards out. I will miss her lovely smile.

Death occurred at the Kirkland & District Hospital on January 2, 2012 of Edith Mae Cassidy, born in South Porcupine in 1916 and passed at the age of 95 years. Lifetime resident of Kirkland Lake and was residing at Extendicare. Predeceased by baby Langley, Herman, Sinclar and Jim Langley. She is survived by two sons Bill and his wife Linda Cassidy of Kirkland Lake and Les and his wife Beverly Cassidy of Maple, ON. Edith is also survived by several grandchildren Penny Cassidy of Oshawa, Jodi Cassidy of Timmins, Bob and his wife Krista Cassidy of Bowmanville and Samantha Cassidy of Whitby as well as her great grandchildren Ethan, Liam and Victoria Cassidy. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (P.O. Box 1122, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3M7).
