We are truly honoured to have had the opportunity to welcome him into our family. He can be at peace and very proud knowing his legacy was incredible children who exemplify compassion, sensitivity, humour, honour and an exuberance for life.
Sorry for your loss. My condolences to all of you.
Sad is how I feel. One of my closest friends. I am confident that although humanity has lost a terrific being, heaven is going to gain an even greater Angel. I feel fortunate to have spent a couple of your last hours here sitting and chatting about life, down by the river. We had some laughs and like always, more serious chat. I know that you were looking forward to the grandchildren here and on the way, but I have to believe your calling is to watch over them and other loved ones now from a place of endless love. I feel very fortunate to have moved to Kirkland Lake and coached all the kids I did, including Patty, Theo and Miriam. That opportunity helped me grow as a coach and as a person. I love and respect you all for allowing me that opportunity. I want to remember not just the good times, but the bad times with you, and how we managed to grow as friends even as our life paths took different directions. To me that is the sign of a soulful friendship and ours was that, my friend. Will sign off the way you always used to. Let go and Let God. God bless.
My condolences to his family.

Your passing came as a shock, especially since we were just chatting not two weeks ago over Messenger. Your witty sense of humor and kindness will live at the forefront of my memories of you. Although it’s been years since we’ve spent time together, I have enough childhood memories of you to last me a lifetime. From Alter servers, Friday Night Gym, Saturday Morning Basketball, Good Friday at your house, Nettie Lake, When you let Mir and I drive the Barker-mobile before we were old enough to… I could go on and on. There was always more than enough love and support to go around. It is safe to say: you will be missed. For the Barker clan: I wish I could offer you more than simple words of condolences. I hope the messages and memories shared with you fill you with peace. Mr. B touched so many lives and will live on in our memories. Big hugs to you all!
Henry Nicole and I would like to send our love and light to Doug’s family at this time of loss. We knew him to be a kind soul who loved God and constantly strove to be the best person he could be, always trying to help others, as separating their pain in life, with his own, was challenging. There is freedom now. Blessed be.
Shocked to hear of Doug’s passing. My most sincere sympathy to all and may your memories help to ease the pain during this difficult time.
