Deb was like a sister to us. Growing up at Paquette Corners, there wasn’t a day that we didn’t see one another and play as we lived right across the road from one another. Deb was always so kind, gentle and loving. She was shy & quiet with others, but not around us. We would get together and play house, lots of fun times with “Barbie”, baseball and “just playing pretend”! We would always walk to school together (no buses back then and it was FAR!) In the winter, we got down into the deep ditch and walked on the frozen ice, out of the wind. I remember one spring after a lot of rain, we decided to take the short cut home across the field. Deb was the one who got stick in the mud, her leg all the way down. She had lost her boot as it got sucked right up, but Deb stayed calm. We got her out and stayed on the road home after that. In the 60’s, there were no sidewalks to walk on and your parents didn’t drive you to school or walk with you. It was up to us to stick together and take care of one another. Our Moms didn’t drive. They stayed home and packed our lunches. Lunches were always fun, especially when you got to share! After school, we were always at one house or the other playing house, “Barbies”, baseball and a lot of “just pretend”! Deb was always kind, gentle and loving. In her own quiet way, you knew you were special to her. I wish we could go back to that “happy” time with Deb. You will always be loved and cherished in our hearts forever. Peace and love to you Deb. Linda Galipeau & Debbies family…. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. It just seems like yesterday when we all worked together. Debbie was in my wedding and the year before we had gone to Hawaii – those where the good days. Deepest sympathy to all of Debbie’s family. I was very sad to recently hear of Debbie’s illness. I am so sorry to hear that she has passed away. I remember working with Debbie and Linda at the Real Estate Board several years ago and going back and seeing the two sisters working together and sharing such quality time together. Debbie: I will always remember your pretty smile. You were married to my brother, and unfortunately things did not work out. I thought of you often and wished we could have seen you.
