David “Gunner” Enouy,

DAVID “GUNNER” ENOUY,

2021

ENOUY, David ArthurIt is with deep sadness that the Enouy family announces the unexpected passing of David on July 12th, 2020. Dave is survived by his sons Christopher, Robert (Melissa), Joey, his granddaughter Alessia, sister in law Lynda, and nephew Drew.Dave grew up in Kirkland Lake so it was only natural that early on he was drawn to sports. He loved and excelled at Hockey, Curling, Baseball, and Golf, among others. His love for hockey turned out to be a big part of his success in life. Gunner, as many of you knew him, was recruited by the Italian Professional Team Val Pellice where he would go on to have an illustrious hockey career and break many scoring records. When he returned to Kirkland, he and his late brother Bill opened up what everybody would know as Billy’s Bar. It became a hot-spot for the town where many would go to enjoy witty banter and football pools each week.If you knew Gunner, you would know he loved nothing more than a fish in his hand and a smile on his face. He could be found swimming every morning at the complex where the regulars and staff enjoyed his humor and infectious laugh.Athletics gave Dave purpose from the very beginning, so it is only fitting that he died doing something he loved; playing golf. Dave will be remembered and loved by many friends and family. At this time, due to COVID restrictions, the celebration of life will be postponed until a later date as it is important that everyone he cared about will be able to attend.DONATIONS:

Just saw the news. Sorry to hear. We had a great time back in the 60 s with the lion’s team and summer ball.

My sincere condolences to Gunners’ family, Gone way too soon, one of the best guys I’ve played with in curling, competitive but easygoing and enjoyed the game.R.I.P Gunner. Lead your team to victory up there.

Tom Quinton, le 1 mars 2021

LIVE, LOVE. LAUGH….I am sure that everyone who interacted with Gunner would agree these three words are indicative of the way he lived his life! I was fortunate to know Gunner as a team-mate, coach, colleague, peer, competitor….but the facet I will treasure most is “friend” I will always remember the year we played together in the Mens Curling Provincials in North Bay and the immensely positive impression he made of Kirkland Lake after a few “pops” with Al Hackner….Gunner was proud of his Kirkland Lake roots and he will continue to live in all of us with that trademark laugh. We extend our sincere condolences to Robert, Chris and Joey. God Bless!! Jerry and Liz Robazza

My condolences go out to Dave’s family. Although I have lost contact with Dave over the years I remember him as a great athlete and a fun person to talk to. We had a good laugh when he caught the fishing fever and Dennis and he would talk about their catches. Brian Lampi

To Dave’s family and friends, I offer my sincere condolences. I only got to know him over the last two years, as part time neighbours in Larder Lake. We went fishing a lot, and shared a lot of laughs. Dave was always there across the road when I came home from work, enjoying the ‘worlds best view’ from his deck. He never greeted me without a grin and that huge laugh. He was a generous, kind, and great fun to hang out with. Thanks for sharing your brother, father, uncle, etc with me for a while. I won’t forget him.

Tim Stubley, le 1 mars 2021

Gunner will be missed on the Lake. Last year he was so proud of the “monster” pike he reeled in.

Our sympathies go out to Dave’s family. He was proud of each and everyone. While growing up with Dave, we lost direct touch over the years but stayed connected through mutual friends. His infectious laugh and quirky smile are vivid in my memory. I am proud to have been his friend and while he is not physically here with us, we will never lose the memories of time together and his life well lived. RIP my friend. We love you and will miss you! To the Enouy family, especially Joey, Chris and Robert, Ray and I offer our sincere sympathy on the loss of your dad. We have many fond memories of Dave (Ray) with hockey and of course the big Pike catch (22lbs) at Sesekinika Lake during an Adams Mine fish derby…little tidbit, the derby had ended and was too late to register the fish. They went to Matachewan the same day and had it mounted, he was very proud – it is a great memory. He had a good heart, RIP Gunner! Love Jan & Ray xo

Jan & Ray Viskovich, le 1 mars 2021

Sincere condolences to Davids family. Although, we had a few years between us it never seemed to get in the way. Your determination to succeed was always a reminder to always try your best. As a player, coach and fan you walked the walk. You were proud of your children and your roots. A fisherman you were, today… you became an angel…… couldnt think of a better finish. We kept in touch during all these years. I am truly sorry you are gone. To Daves boys, you are loved! Our family will always miss you around the dinner table. RIP Gun Tim & Josh Lee

I had the privilege to spend one year playing for Val Pellice in the Italian Pro League with Dave …..of course many thanks to Bill and Dave that gave me the opportunity to go overseas.
