PERRY, Clarence, 93, of Kirkland Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2019 at Kirkland Lake District Hospital. Clarence is predeceased in death by his parents Tom and Hazel, wife June Perry, his brother Lloyd and two sisters-in-law Gwen and Joan, as well as his sister-in-law Margaret Lampard.Clarence was the youngest of 3 children born to Tom and Hazel Perry in Trout Mills, Ontario on December 20th, 1925. In 1945 he met and married his wife of 70 years June Perry. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 15 years at the Wright Hargreaves Mine until it closed in 1964, at which time he began employment at the Adams Mine. Clarence retired after 26 years at the Adams Mine in 1990. Affectionately known as “Poochie” to his family, he loved spending time outdoors and acting as a part-time mechanic, tinkering with the latest project. As a young man, he enjoyed playing many sports which he later enjoyed watching with his wife, June. Both were passionate Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fans, and they rarely missed a game.He is survived by his nephew, Ricky Groves and his wife Clarice and their children Jennifer Hartwick (John) and their children Avery and Harrison, Kristopher Groves (Candice) and their children Parker and Myles; nieces Wendy Woodcock, Lilian Butts, Debby Purvis and nephew Brian Perry.We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing neighbours of Federal Street who have provided such wonderful support, care and friendship to Clarence and June during their 70 years in their home.
