Englehart resident Bert Hill died August 04, 2015 at the Englehart and District Hospital. He was born in Hills Lake, Ontario, on April 28, 1930, to Wilfred and Elizabeth (Barr) Hill. Educated at Hills Lake, he married Delia (Dee) Lajambe at Emmanuel United Church on December 1, 1979. Mr. Hill was a resource technician and district parks supervisor with the Ministry of Natural resources in Matheson, Larder Lake and Swastika (Kirkland Lake). He was an outdoorsman who loved canoeing, fishing, hunting, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. He also enjoyed gardening and travelling. He was a wonderful father who loved his family dearly and was a terrific husband. He was caring, easy-going and gentle person with a unique sense of humour who will be greatly missed. He was also a member of the Englehart Masonic Lodge No. 534 for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Delia; children Suzanna Hill of Toronto, Patricia McGilvery (Patrick Carey) of Haileybury, Stephen (Melinda), Wilfred (Kyungah) of Orillia, Carson of Winnipeg; grandchildren Ryan McGilvery (Masako) of Japan, Paul McGilvery (Tiffany Furlong) of Sudbury, Dylan Hill of Orillia and Joshua Simmons-Hill of Winnipeg; brother Donald of Englehart; brother-in-law Victor Lajambe (Florence); sister-in-law Helen Shouinard (Michael Gale) of North Bay; nephew Wayne Hill (Andra) of Calgary as well as great-nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife Gisele Leduc. Cremation has taken place. A memorial luncheon will be held at the Northern Beacon Rebekah Lodge at a later date.
