It is with heavy hearts the family of Barry Lacarte announces his death on December 4, 2010, at Sudbury Regional Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Barry was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, August 6, 1933, to Jack and Evelyn (Regan) Lacarte. He was the devoted husband and best friend of Anne and will be missed by daughters Rhonda Spears (Brian); Darlene Lacarte (Billy); and Shelley Theriault (Gerald) all of New Brunswick as well as grandchildren Cory, Daniel and Greg; Miranda, Billie-Jo and Steve; John and Steven; and eight grandchildren. Barry will also be missed by stepchildren Cheryl Archer (Keven); Dale Peever (Cheryl); Darwin Peever (Holly); Lincoln Peever (Nancy); Terry Lynn Potvin (John) and eight grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Jack and Evelyn, brothers Jack, Danny and baby Raoul and sister Blanche. Barry enjoyed a number of careers in his lifetime including truck driver and ambulance attendant, eventually retiring after many years as an automobile salesman, but his first love was snowmobiling, and he spent as much time as he could out on the trails as a lifetime member of the Tri Town Sno Travelers. He volunteered his time as a snowmobile driver training and safety instructor (25 years) and a S.T.O.P. officer with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. According to Barry’s wishes, there will be no visitation, funeral or memorial service. Cremation has taken place. Donations to your favourite charity in Barry’s memory would be appreciated.
