Gauthier, Aurore

GAUTHIER, Aurore

1931 - 2018

In loving memory of Mrs. Aurore Gauthier who passed away at Englehart & District Hospital, on Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at the age of 87. Aurore was a lifelong resident of Earlton where she owned and operated her diner for over 45 years. An extraordinary hard worker. In fact, if you asked Aurore, never officially retired. She had a passion for cooking and her food fare was enjoyed by the many local residents to Hwy 11 travellers from all over the country. A mother of five entrepreneur with the drive and work ethic matched by few, Aurore successfully launched her business and never looked back. In the earlier times, she enjoyed fishing, berry picking until the fear of bears took hold. Once an avid Bingo player, she turned her passion for gambling to the lottery. She also took part in many organized bus trips to Florida and enjoyed sharing her memories. On more than one occasion, our mother would pile the car up with her kids and their friends, in the days before the seat belt laws, pulling a Boler and bravely ventured to Niagara Falls, Montreal where we enjoyed just being kids while she laboured keeping us safe and fed! Rest in Peace, well earned and well deserved. She was a loving mother to Jacques, Donald, Nicole Tschupruk (Rolly), Brigitte Antler (Robert McEwen) and grandmother to Cheryl Tschupruk, Melanie Chanzy, Amy Tschupruk, Stéphanie Antler Léveillé, Vanessa MacPherson and Jesse McEwen; and Great grandmother to Meagan Léveillé, Brianna Léveillé, Owen Léveillé, Sophie Chanzy, Justin Chanzy and Cody MacPherson. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jean-Paul and her son Réjean as well as 6 sisters and 5 brothers. The family of the late Mrs. Aurore Gauthier will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Saturday, April 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A 'Celebration of Life' will be held at McDonald Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 am. Anne Thibodeau officiating. In memory contributions to the Englehart & District Hospital Palliative Care Room will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank NP S. Desilets, Dr. VanOnselen and Dr. Lacasse as well as the excellent nursing staff at the Engelhart and District Hospital, with special mentions to Lou, Billie, Tracy, Stephanie and so many more. Smiley Marie from the kitchen staff, thank you! Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left below..
